It is very important to understand the selected deductible on your homeowner insurance policy. Did you know that claims are paid on a per occurrence basis which means that the dollar amount of damage for claims don't accrue. If you carry a $500 deductible then you would have to have in excess of this amount under a covered type of loss for the insurance company to pay. Some people think if a claim is under deductible then the next problem would be minus that amount of damage previously disclosed. Each claim is looked at individually. Another confusing thing can be what is called a split deductible. This is where you have one amount say $500 for all covered claims except for Wind/Hail which would hold another deductible such as $1,000. Be sure to review your policy, select deductibles that work for your personal circumstance and ask your agent question for any parts you are unclear on. JESUS is Coming Soon!! Are you Ready???
