Make Sure Parking-Lot Safety is at the Top of Your Shopping List
The American Automobile Association (AAA) notes that it’s important to stay safe in the parking lot when you’re out holiday shopping. These tips can help:
•Park farther away. Everyone wants the closest spot, but during this busy time of year it may be easier and less risky to drive to where there aren’t as many cars and walk.
•Keep your cash and credit cards out of sight.
•Keep your cell phone handy in case of an emergency. And don’t be afraid to report something suspicious.
•If you need to make multiple trips, keep all of your purchases in the trunk of your car to prevent thieves from targeting your vehicle.
•If shopping at night, find a well-lit, highly visible place to park.
